This tweet was true. 1516 West. Wrightwood Ave. was the accost of the abode in the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago which was used for some exterior shots in popular 1990s television receiver sitcom. The firm faced across the street to Wrightwood Park:
Outside establishing shots of the front end of the house were captured for employ on "Family Matters." The inside of the Winslow family's home was filmed on studio lots in California in the series' run from 1989-1998, both at Lorimar Studios in Culver City and Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank:
Still, at least one shot on "Family Matters" showed what appeared to be the sitcom'south characters inside the real Chicago house. Although this is not typical of situation comedies, the airplane pilot episode featured a shot that might wait familiar to fans of the series.
The first episode, titled "The Mama Who Came to Dinner," ended with the Winslow family unit singing around a pianoforte. The scene used a shot showing the photographic camera moving away and through a window, which was filmed at Lorimar Studios in California, then switched to a shot taken from a helicopter at the Due west. Wrightwood Ave. house in Chicago. The family could still exist seen singing around the piano in the latter shot:
Lights were switched on to give the windows on all three floors a warm glow. The same helicopter shot was used in subsequent episodes for years to come:
On Sept. 21, 2017, the neighborhood news website DNAinfo reported that the "Family Matters" firm would be demolished:
LINCOLN PARK — The firm where Steve Urkel made himself at home is set to exist demolished.

Twitter user @Brandon_Bird made a solid signal: "Wait, there are but and so many times Urkel can crash a jetpack through your roof before you have to reinforce the whole structure."
Steve Urkel was the nosy neighbor on "Family Matters." His character, portrayed by Jaleel White, eventually grew to get the show's biggest star. The ascent of Urkel's graphic symbol later became the subject of a sketch on the One-act Central series "Primal & Peele":

According to realtor.com, the smaller domicile to the left of the "Family unit Matters" house was sold on Sept. 12, 2002, for $625,000. (It was like to that of 1524 W. Wrightwood Ave., which stands to this day.) The business firm to the left of the "Family Matters" abode appears below at the lesser-left of the helicopter shot:
The smaller habitation (bottom-left above) at 1518 W. Wrightwood Ave. was demolished after 2002 and a larger house was built in its place which was listed on Feb. 1, 2006, for $iii,149,000. According to realtor.com, it was not sold until April 14, 2017, going for $1,955,000:
